Dear Colleague,
The European Congress of Radiology (ECR) is the official scientific congress for medical imaging of the EFRS. With this in mind The EFRS Board is keen to see more and more radiographers, and radiography students, actively participating. A record of 2,254 radiographers from 84 countries attended ECR 2019 where the EFRS hosted the biggest ever radiographers programme with: five full days of Refresher Course sessions, Professional Challenges sessions, Scientific sessions, Voice of EPOS sessions, Rising Stars sessions (aimed specifically at radiography students and new graduates), My Thesis in 3 Minutes sessions, EFRS meets session, and an EFRS Workshop. The EFRS also helped develop the programme for the Cube (an interventional radiology showcase) and participated in the Women in Focus programme. On top of this we also host the EFRS Educational Wing Annual Meeting and our EFRS Student Session during ECR.
ECR also offers excellent networking opportunities and a fantastic social programme including a Radiographers’ Evening in the Fuhrgassl-Huber winery which over 500 radiographers attended at ECR 2019.
We would also like to bring a number of opportunities for current radiography students and also for qualified radiographers to your attention.
These are:

Invest in the Youth – Support programme for radiography students
For ECR 2020, 1,000 places are again available to young professionals in training (radiology residents, radiographers in training, and medical physicists in training) including free registration to ECR and an accommodation voucher through the Invest in the Youth support programme. Applicants must submit an abstract for ECR 2020 and must be an active member (€11 for radiographers) or ESR Friend (free for student radiographers) for 2019 (must become a member or friend before the August 31, 2019 deadline).

Shape Your Skills – Support programme for radiographers
For ECR 2020, support is again available for qualified radiographers by granting them free registration to ECR and an accommodation voucher through the Shape your Skills support programme. ECR 2020 Timeline
Please follow this link and take note of all key dates for ECR 2020.
If you know any current students or qualified radiographers who have been involved in research projects, please encourage them and support them in submitting an abstract for ECR 2020. Please also discuss the above support schemes with them. For those who are anxious about delivering an oral presentation in a full Scientific Session, please remember that there are also the Voice of EPOS sessions, which are less formal, and also the option to give a very brief oral presentations in the My Thesis in 3 Minutes sessions.
